Adventures

This weekend we are going on an adventure, well walking in Wales with the dogs but we'll make it adventurous!!  We have booked a cottage.  I'm pre-cooking all the meals.  Daddy has bought these fab adventure kits for the boys.

Now the problem arises - I have nothing for my daughter!  So, any suggestions please for things I can get for a five year olds girly adventure pack.  Tin mug, lip gloss & kendal mint cake are on my list but not sure she'll go for camo tarpaulins even if they are pink.

New Discoveries

I love discovering new things & places.  Today I discovered 'Tonic'.  I've driven past a few times.  Parking is a bit hit & miss but today there was a spot, so I grabbed it, popped in to 'Tonic' & emerged about half an hour later with a heavy bag & a much lighter purse!!!

'Tonic' is a lovely little health boutique that has recently opened in Hungerford.  The lady that runs it, Anneliese - is so helpful.  So, if you're ever in the area I really recommend a visit.  I came across products I had never seen before.

I'm off now to make myself a lovely cup of Jing tea - another new discovery!!!

Collections

I love collecting but I hate too much clutter, so my collections have to be useful, they can't collect dust on a shelf.

I think my biggest collection is probably books.  I love books.  I love book shops.  I love second hand books.  I love libraries.  Infact years ago, I was about 12, it was suggested through some weird psychometric testing we all did at school that my ideal career would be librarian!  Of course we all laughed about it at the time but I really do regret not taking that seriously.

I think my biggest weekness in the book world is cookery books.  Today I counted 66 cookery books - then of course there's all those recipe cards, those lovely seasons books waitrose used to do, magazine cuttings, internet print outs, I could go on.

I'm by no means a brilliant cook but I do enjoy creating & really enjoy food.  So with all of that in mind I am putting together a new page on my blog called Food Glorious Food.  It's a bit like my Hazy Days & Holidays page, so please feel free to put forward your suggestions.

The book I'm mainly cooking from this week is:

The book on my wish list is:
